Sucre to Potosi Bolivia
We are in Potosi again tonight. We left the other day from Sucre and backtracked to Potosi so we could do a mine tour. What an experience is all I can say – I am exhausted, so I will fill in later if I have time.
But for now, here are Tom’s pictures so far from the trip – from picking up his bike, to Death Road, BMW dealer, Sucre and some Potosi.
Great pics. The road of death looks like a ribbon hardly attached to the mountainside. And what was that thing in the mine? What a great adventure.
Great North Yungas Road/Death Road photos.
Looks like a BMW show bike was hit by the roof cave-in. Couldn’t use the fuel pump off that bike?
The mine tour was quite a rugged, in-the-dirt adventure. The underworld deity looked quiet scary! Did you leave a offering for good luck?
No tracks today.
Sounds like an adventure, you just roll with the flow and enjoy it.
That roof cave in was crazy!! Amazing you didn’t get hurt.
Thanks for sharing
We’ve been having internet issues at home, so didn’t get to see the pictures til today at work. Death Road is even scarier than I imagined…good thing I didn’t see any of these while you were there! Great pics of some of the ‘locals’, too. There sure is a HUGE difference between the city and the outlying villages. The mine adventure looked pretty cool, too. Thanks to you, Tom, for including Jim in your pics…nice to see his ol’ mug – we don’t see him often enough.
Glad to see SPOT back on….at first glance, it looked like you were crossing a large lake, but after Google Earthing the coordinates, I see you’re on the salt flats. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Just getting caught up on the “trip of a life time”! You look like a world traveler maybe even the the most interesting man. Lots of great pictures and events to share when you get back. Keep traveling and having fun!
