Beautiful weather today! After getting Sharon’s bike dialed in, we left St. George and headed into Zion National Park, where it was slow going through the park, but well worth the views that you are treated with.
Several close calls today with some bonehead people driving. First ws just outside the park. Somebody deceided at the last minute to stop in the middle of the road to take pictures of the Bisons, causing us all to slam on the brakes. Later in the day, a Florida driver deceided to also stop in the middle of the road, causing a whole line of us to slam on the brakes. Luckily Steve pulled up because the truck barreling down behind him end ended up stopping where Big Steve’s front tire was and right next to Sharon!
But we plodded along and 11 hours later we made it to Grand Junction
Great shots!! Jim, those shakes & gym days sure paid off. You certainly don’t look like the ol’ geezer you are 😀
Keeping the distance is always key, isn’t it?
Now the weather will start getting cooler.
Great pix!
U got that right!! Or pass the slow pokes….,
BTW Tom, have a great time on ur next leg of your trip with ur boys.
Day 1:HOOKED UP WITH SON BOB
Day 2:HOOKED UP WITH GRANDKIDS AND ESCORTED TO LAX. BOARDED FLIGHT 1197 TO MAUI. 5HRS AND 30 MIN LATER LANDED ON MAUI. VERY WINDY ROUGH LANDING GOOD PILOT! 84 DEGREES BUT FEELS LIKE 75
Whew! I’m glad you guys are seasoned road veterans with those boneheads on the road. Beautiful pics. And I agree with you Jan, no more ol geezer for Jim. He is quite sexy these days;)
Just lost a friend 2 weeks ago in Glacier National Park on the Road To The Sun Hwy. He was one of the most proficient riders I know. Holds class world record for speed riding a Buell at Bonnerville Salt Flats, World Record from Prudhoe Bay AK to Ushuaia Argentina, represented the US in a international motorcycle competition in Europe, pilot, etc.
Riding 25 MPH behind two cars, the first car slams on the brakes to view mountain goats on the side of the road. Second car hits the first car. My friend hits the second car at maybe 10 MPH. Bike goes down in a slow high-side rolling him into the oncoming lane and traffic. He died a couple hours later.
He was at fault because he was too close to the second car. Please maintain your distance!
Dean, sorry for your loss. It’s hard to see the good ones go down.
Sorry to hear that Dean, was that during the rally you just attended?

Love the beautiful pictures and the rider shots!
You know…bikes aren’t like Priuses – either those idiotic shit heads are deaf or they honestly just don’t pay attention!
You guys take care out there and have fun!
