Today’s Ride Summary…by BS
Met at John and Sharon’s at 7 am, it was overcast and drizzly. Hit the road at 7:20. Traffic wasn’t bad until we hit Norco, split traffic to the 60. Then up the hill and into the sun, quickly warmed up to 100 plus degrees. Stopped for lunch in Lone Pine at the Grill, food was good. Stopped for water so that we could hook up the air conditioner. Then back on 395 to Bishop where we stopped for a caffeine fix at Starbucks (of course) and then checked out the local gun store. On the way the air was smokey and hazy from the fires. Then up the hill towards Mammoth where it cooled off nicely, mountain air always smells great. Beautiful scenery and the condo the John found is Awesome!!! Well we are off to dinner…
Coffee Break…
at Starbucks in Bishop, and checking messages and betting on a birth. It is smoky around here, lots of fires
Shake and Bake Run?
Don’t know – but doing a short ride up north to visit some friends to get away and ride…. Probably won’t post much, but who knows…
B2B!
No, not “Back to Basics” or “Bad to the Bone” (a great little BBQ place in SJC), but “Back to Baja!”
A change in the the typical SCORE race schedule caught the Baja Boys off guard. The typical Tecate San Felipe Baja 250 in March is now the Bud Lite San Felipe Baja 250 in January. Didn’t know the change till beginning of January, so this trip is just 4 of us from SoCal heading down on our street bikes for some Lobster, a night in Ensenada, then a scoot across the peninsula to San Felipe for three nights and watch the start of the Baja 250 on Saturday.
Won’t be the same without the Baja Crew from up north, but it will be an adventure, never the less….
Don’t know if I’ll be able to post much, if any, but you may be able to follow along via my SPOT tracks.
