Shake-n-Break-in – Getting Ready
Typical night before a ride….
Scrambling to get things ready and cleaned up. Configuring last-minute items you buy, getting calls, packing too much.. ugh!
But all worth it in the long run. Got a call from Dean as he was having issues getting maps on his GPS – he was working on it for 4 hours. Myself, struggling to get my new inReach to talk to another website.
Dean was able to get his maps loaded, late tonight, the owner of the Spotwalla website troubleshoot my issue and got it working… so it is now looking good..
Although it’s almost 11:30 and I need to be up by 4 a.m., lol.
I’ll be meeting Dean at 6:00 am then off to the Sierras to find 9 Mile Canyon Road in Inyokern, CA before heading to Cressy CA for the night. Saturday we will be heading towards Hopland, CA the long long way…
Then after visiting Big Ben and Kate, we will head to The Lost Coast in northern CA to explore some dirt roads and break in Dean’s new bike.
Time to hit the sack!
Lassen N.P.
Great day riding. Had breakfast in Mineral Spring and we were on the road by 9am to head into the park. First stop after the visitor center was the Sulfur hot springs and a hike.

After our hike, we exited the park and continued on 89 to Shasta, the continued north to Klamath Falls OR, but now before a stop in Weed CA
Tomorrows planned ride is west to Crescent City CA via a Red Woods park along the CA/OR border.
Lake Tahoe to Bates Motel
Up early to a beautiful morning. Room had a view of the lake and the surrounding area the water was like glass. Packed up our stuff to get ready for our ride then headed down to the pier. John had to pass on the seadoo ride, he was in too much pain from the pounding ride from yesterday evening so Steve and I took both the seadoo’s out on a picture perfect glass lake. We did try to get Jimmy to go but he passed again Can anybody say “YeeHaw” what a difference between waves and glass. Then it was back on the bikes to our new adventure. Started the ride following along the lake, climbing the hills and going from one perfect Vista to another. Stopped at Inspiration Point. (Emerald Bay). Such amazing views…… God is Great! Followed the 89 through the mountains. Stopped at a small town for lunch which was surprisingly very good. Then on to Bates Motels, no words can describe our initial thoughts lol. Turned out that John and Sharon’s room had a surprise, Lmao but the food was very good. (I’m having the best time with these amazing people) That’s all for today. Good night.
